Preventative Maintenance – Bunch Note Feed Bill Reader

Bill readers function best and most reliably when kept clean. It is recommended to periodically perform the steps below to minimize notes rejections and jams. Depending on the environment and the condition of the notes, this might be needed as often as every other month.

Watch the video to see the illustration of the steps outlined below.

  1. Use thumbs to press down and release the bill reader tray
  2. Log in to open the BR door and slide the locking bar to the right
  3. Press the yellow button to release and remove the acceptor head
  4. Press the small, yellow button and pull the tab to remove the cartridge
  5. Use a damp or dry, lint free rag to wipe down the crevices. An air can can be used here, too.
  6. Place back the cartridge carefully orienting it the right direction to slide and push it into position, you’ll hear a click.
  7. Press down on the clip and pull to unplug the orange cable that connects the acceptor head to the bunch note feeder, then slide the yellow part up to open
  8. Using a damp or dry, lint free rag, wipe the inner surfaces. Sensors need to be clean to read note properly and rollers need to be clean to turn freely and travel the note into the cassette. This helps avoid jams and rejections.
  9. Close the feeder, hear it snap close. Reconnect the cable.
  10. Place the bill reader back insider the safe. Confirm the bill reader is properly in place by hearing it engage and observe the green light flashing.
  11. Close the bill reader door, slide locking bar and place tray back.

If the door open alarm sounds, you can snooze it by pressing ENTER
