Each AMSEC safe is professionally hand-crafted with quality materials and is equipped with a precision-quality digital lock. To become familiar with the lock, operate the lock (as outlined below) several times before closing the door and locking the safe.
Operating Your Safe
NOTE: The safe is shipped without the batteries installed in order to prevent corrosion. Before operating the safe, please install the four AA size batteries included with the safe into the emergency battery box, using the battery box to open the safe initially. (See instructions under “How to Open in an Emergency”). Once the safe is open, take the batteries out of the battery box and install them into the battery case located at the back side of the door.
The factory user code for this safe is “123456” and the factory manager code is “888888.”
NOTE: This safe can be operated by using a password or a card with a magnetic strip. You can choose either one to operate the safe door.
Password Function Setting and Opening Door
With the door in the unlocked position and closed, enter a 3 to 6-digit number and press the # (LOCK) button. The display will show “-CLOSED-” as the door locking bolts extend. The code used to lock the safe is the same code you will use to unlock the safe.Enter the code you used to lock the safe and press #. The LED shows “OPEN” as the door locking bolts retract, then the LED shows “OPENED.”
There is a manager code for this safe, which is “888888.” When the door is locked, input the factory manager code and press # to confirm. The display will show ”PASS5-1,” then press # and enter your new 6-digit manager code. Press # after entering the new code, and the LED screen shows “DONE,” indicating the new manager code is set successfully. It’s recommended that the manager code should be changed before using.
Enter the new manager code and press #. The display shows “PASS5-1,” and the door will be unlocked after counting.
NOTE: Pressing # after the safe has been opened will close the safe with the last code used to open it.
Magnetic Card Function Setting and Opening Door
With the door in the unlocked position and closed, put the magnetic card into the notch in the correct position as indicated on the safe. Slide the magnetic card from right to left. The display will show: “-CLOSED-” and the door will lock automatically. If the card is not swiped correctly, the display will read: “-AGAIN-”. Swipe the card again until the display reads: “-CLOSED-”. Swipe the same card again to open the safe. Slide the card firmly from right to left with the magnetic strip down, then the display will show “OPENED” and the safe will be unlocked.
NOTE: A bank credit card can be used as the magnetic card. The sliding movement should be steady and quick, from right to left. Pressing # after the safe has been opened will close the safe with the last credit card used to open it.
